Artist, Jarill Ristine, began her journey into stained glass in 1980 in her home town near Chicago, Illinois. After taking her first class where she was told she was a “natural”, she started building windows for the store that taught her. A few years later she and her family moved to Sanibel Island, Florida, where Jarill started her own studio. Drawing her own designs, with an eye for color and ability to choose glasses that complemented her designs, made her work sought after. Sixteen years later, a move to Carson City, Nevada and a big wonderful new kiln expanded her work when she discovered the joy of working with warm glass. Finding a new freedom in kiln work that is not possible in stained glass alone she incorporates the two together for amazing results. Jarill has found a new passion in creating decorative and functional fused glass art pieces as well as beautiful dichroic glass jewelry.
